Sports

Physical Education (P.E.) forms an integral part of the curriculum at the school and is also a major area of extra curricular activity. It is considered a healthy way to develop pupils' physical competence and confidence. It also promotes physical co-ordination, physical development and knowledge of the body in action.

Sport is a vital component in the development of pupils of all ages. A football match, a swimming tournament or a dance exhibition are all experiences from which one can learn the value of teamwork and develop a healthy competitive attitude. Sports and games are available at different levels. From interschool matches, to House competitions to after school clubs and activities, pupils will always find an activity they can enjoy.

Our sports program at BSB encompasses both competitive sport and non-competitive events. Our facilities readily reflect our commitment to sport throughout the school. We participate in sporting events both in Beijing and indeed across China.

Sports days, house competitions and a very well structured extracurricular activities program ensures that all of our children have the opportunity to participate at their own level.  With lunch time and afterschool clubs currently running in handball, basketball, badminton, soccer, swimming, dance, athletics along with several fun events throughout the year such as swim galas ensure maximum participation.

BSB is a member of several competitive and non competitive leagues within Beijing and Asia. These include. FOBISSEA , The Federation of British International Schools in South and East Asia who organise many sporting events for schools within the region. ISAC, International school’s Athletic Conference, a competitive league made up of schools in Beijing and Tianjin. There are regular competitions in both locations.

We also participate in the EABBIS Games. The Games will be held from May 20-22. Participants will compete in soccer, basketball, athletics and swimming.
